By writing a good and informative product description, adding the right product tags, and a good meta description, you can optimize your product page for search engines like Google and Bing. Additionally, you can show up higher in search results within the Coded Market as well.
We've provided a tool within the product editor that shows you important metrics such as the tag density and reading time of your product description. With this tool, you can get an estimate of how your product will perform in search results. We'll focus on these two metrics and how you can optimize your product for search on Coded.

The tag density metric is calculated from the tags that you apply to your template on the Add a New product page. A good tag density is between 2-3%. Since your product tags will appear separately on the product page, the Product Description is a good opportunity to discuss the features of your product and how those features can benefit the customer. Keyword stuffing is not ideal and listing the random search terms is not a good use of the product description section. Take this opportunity to offer your sales pitch as to why the customer should purchase your template.
Tag density can show how often your article discusses a particular word or phrase but it doesn't determine how informative your description is for the customer. Keep your keywords at the target density and put more effort into writing an engaging description for the customer.
Shoppers tend to browse more than research. By keeping your reading time at around 180 seconds, or 3 minutes, you can briefly inform the customer to the features and benefits of using your template before their attention wanders. Consider using bullet points and concise, short sentences. Other products on Coded are competing for the customer's attention as well. By writing engaging product copy that can be read quickly, you can make a sharp and decisive impact on the customer's shopping process.
